| About | | | I was born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa. I spent time on my uncle's farm, playing football, basketball, baseball, wrestling, and doing what the average kid did during the 1960s and 1970s. My parents were hardworking middle-class individuals who instilled in me the notion that being honest and forthright in my dealings with people would always benefit me in the long run.
After living in a few locations around the continental United States and a couple around the world, my family and I moved to Arlington Heights, IL from Colorado Springs, CO, in the summer of 1999. My wife grew up in Arlington Heights and wanted to come back here to raise our children. In 2023, my wife and I moved to Prospect Heights, IL. We have been married since 1983 and have four grown children: two boys and two girls, and seven grandchildren, three boys and four girls. I like to play most sports in my free time but focus on golf and non-competitive bike riding.
Professionally, I have been in the Information Technology (IT) field as a consultant and permanent employee since 1995. My work has involved activities in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) while implementing client-server and web-based applications. I have also taught undergraduate and graduate-level relational database, internet technology, and SDLC courses since 1998 as an Adjunct faculty member at Regis University, University of Phoenix, DeVry University Online, and DePaul University.
Before that, I spent 12 years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force as an Imagery Intelligence Officer; I separated in 1996 and went into the Air Force Reserves, where I retired in March 2004 as a Major with 20 years of total service. While on active duty I was assigned to the 544th Strategic Intelligence Wing, Strategic Air Command Headquarters, 497th Reconnaissance Technical Group, with a 6-week temporary duty assignment at the U.S. Embassy in Ankara Turkey, 15th Air Intelligence Squadron and Pacific Air Forces Headquarters, with temporary duty assignments in Alaska, Guam, South Korea, and Japan.
I have a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology/Political Science from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa; a Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Information Systems from Regis University, Denver, Colorado; and have completed all the coursework for an M.S. in Strategic Intelligence from the Defense Intelligence College, Defense Intelligence Agency, Bolling AFB, DC.
| | Political Involvement | | | Politically, I first got involved during the 1980 Presidential election. In 1976, Jimmy Carter surprised everyone by coming out of nowhere and winning the Democratic nomination. As a result, there was much interest in 1980 in both the Democratic and Republican races. I decided to attend my Precinct caucus, and a long story short, I ended up being a seated delegate at the 1980 Iowa State GOP Convention. The highlight was shaking Ronald Reagan's hand as he walked off the stage after his speech. After the convention, I returned to college, got married, and had children. As you would imagine, life took over. I continued to follow politics and consistently voted, but being active in politics was a low priority. Fast forward to 2022. With all the confusion caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the push for policies that I believe are not aligned with government interests, I felt compelled to re-engage in politics.
I began attending the monthly meeting of the Republicans of Wheeling Township (ROWT), a local political organization, in January 2022. Over the months leading up to the General Election, I volunteered to help by assembling and delivering yard signs, sealing envelopes, distributing campaign materials, and going door-to-door to canvass for my State Representative candidate. I also became a Cook County Election Judge, working the Primary and General Election. Then, just after the 2022 General Election, I volunteered to be a Precinct Captain and was fortunate to be offered the opportunity. For a few years, I did everything I could to support candidates and positions while working hard to encourage everyone to vote. Most recently, I was a candidate in 2025 for the Prospect Heights Ward 2 City Council seat. I did not win, but I received 47 percent of the vote against an incumbent who the Mayor endorsed. Not bad for my first time as a candidate and being a total unknown. Now, I am expanding the scope of my involvement by running for the Illinois 9th U.S. House of Representatives office.

With that all said, thanks for dropping by. I hope I can count on your support.Sincerely,
